This young athlete boasts substantial social media presence
Kai Trump can count on multiple high-profile supporters as she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, received a special exemption to play at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, possesses several courses worldwide and often competes against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He essentially advised me to play and have fun," she added.
"In my eyes, he's simply a normal grandpa. He can't make it for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, making him quite busy."
As an amateur, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments in 2024 and holds the 461st position in AJGA listings.
However she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He is the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a superior individual. He suggested me to play, enjoy myself, and go with the flow."
She'll challenge some of most prominent players in women's golf at the Annika, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to wider groups, specifically reaching youth audiences.
The young star has millions of followers and recently launched an exclusive fashion and living company.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
